| Occupying a small storefront
in Portland's Chinatown, Motel has been exhibiting nationally recognized
emerging artists since its inception in March of 2003. Motel is
committed to promoting the work of artists within the first five
to ten years of their careers. Exhibiting work that is conceptually
innovative and technically astute, Motel caters to both established
and budding collectors, critics and curators.
Motel has hosted a roster of 100+ artists, housing work from around the globe and spanning a variety of disciplines. The gallery works closely with a select group of artists on a representational basis to assist in the development of their fine art careers. Motel has participated in gallery
fairs around the country including Aqua Art Miami, Milwaukee International,
ArtLA and the Affair at the Jupiter Hotel. The gallery has been
featured in Artweek, Artlies, Plazm, Res magazine, the Japanese
cultural magazine “Relax”, Domino, Metropolis, the Oregonian,
the Drama and the Portland Mercury, among others. |
